Meat Packing Trust

Roosevelt uses his brains and skill to outthink his competition behind the scenes and his uncanny ability to rally the people behind his cause he began to push through more bills that gave him the power and ability to change American life.

With the indirect help of journalist, he championed the pure food and drug act that forced the manufacturers who produced everything from patent medicines to canned tomatoes accurately label their products.

When the meat packing trust tried to block an inspection bill that would have revealed the appalling unhealthy conditions in their slaughterhouses Roosevelt release part of the findings of a federal investigation into industry practices and then threatened to make public the rest if they didn’t back down.   The meat packers backed down.
